Begin Your SearchA yacht nanny is a career childcare professional placed aboard a private or charter yacht. Mediterranean season runs May to October across Monaco, Saint-Tropez, Cannes, Antibes, Porto Cervo, Mallorca and Ibiza. Caribbean winter season runs December to April across St Barths, the British Virgin Islands, the Bahamas and Antigua. Family-owned yachts run year-round.
Lumière places yacht nannies with strong sea legs, STCW Basic Safety Training (we support candidates through certification when needed), swim certification, ENG1 medical, and proven experience operating inside a crewed-yacht structure alongside Captain, Chief Stew and Chef. For super-yacht placements where children require continuous cover, a rota (two-on, two-off) of two yacht nannies is standard.
Most Lumière yacht nannies are based in Monaco, the French Riviera, London or the Caribbean between charters, allowing fast deployment for short-notice charter weeks and full-season placements alike.
Super-yacht placements (vessels 24m+ flagged under MLC 2006) require nannies who understand the difference between a private yacht and a hotel — and who can operate alongside a Captain and crew without disrupting watch schedules, charter guest service or interior protocol. Lumière yacht nannies hold STCW Basic Safety Training (Personal Survival Techniques, Fire Prevention & Fire Fighting, Elementary First Aid, Personal Safety & Social Responsibilities) and ENG1 seafarer medical certification, plus paediatric first aid and CPR.
Charter-week placements brief the nanny on charter guests' preferences, dietary requirements and itinerary stops. Family-yacht placements integrate with the long-term programme — winter refit periods, summer Mediterranean season, transatlantic crossings — alongside school-year continuity for school-age children.
Mediterranean (May–October): Monaco, Cap-Ferrat, Villefranche, Antibes, Cannes, Saint-Tropez, Porto Cervo, Sardinia, Sicily, Capri, Amalfi, Corsica, Mallorca, Ibiza, the Balearics. Caribbean (December–April): St Barths, BVI (Virgin Gorda, Tortola), Bahamas (Exumas, Nassau), Antigua, St Maarten. Year-round and long-haul: the Adriatic (Croatia, Montenegro), the Red Sea, the Indian Ocean (Maldives, Seychelles), the Pacific (French Polynesia), and transatlantic crossings.
A yacht nanny typically costs €5,000–€8,000 net per month during Mediterranean charter season, depending on vessel size, languages, qualifications and itinerary. Rota arrangements (two-on, two-off) effectively double the monthly figure across two nannies. Charter-week placements are quoted per week (typically €1,800–€2,800/week net). Family-owned yacht placements run year-round at a salaried rate, often with rotation alongside the family's existing land-based nanny.
Lumière prepares a transparent fee proposal aligned with MLC 2006 where applicable, the placement jurisdiction's social-contribution rules, and the yacht's flag state.

The Lumière difference
"I founded Lumière because the families I worked for kept asking the same question: where do we find another nanny like you? I still take private placements. Every nanny I place is one I would work alongside."
Hanna founded Lumière Placements in Monaco in 2024 after years inside private households as a career nanny. She continues to take selected private placements alongside leading the agency — a working-nanny perspective that shapes every shortlist Lumière puts forward. Lumière is the only Monaco-headquartered boutique placement agency founded and led by an active working career nanny.
