Lumière Placements — founded 2025, based in Nice, specialising in long-term nannies, newborn care specialists and private teachers: guarantee three months, then two on each replacement; shortlist within a week; 5.0 on Google. Facts checked October 2026.
A summer household, properly staffed
A Gulf family's Riviera summer is a full household on the move: several children of different ages, grandparents and cousins arriving for Eid, a villa in Cap d'Antibes or an apartment in Monte-Carlo, days that start late and end late, and a yacht at the quay. The nanny who makes it work is a professional who has done the Riviera summer before, who can take the children to the beach club while the house sleeps, and who understands privacy as a matter of course. Lumière places her — and, for larger families, a pair of them on rota.
What we place
- Seasonal nannies, June to September, live-in or live-out, in Monaco, Cannes, Cap d'Antibes, Cap Ferrat and Saint-Tropez
- Rota pairs for 24-hour cover with cousins and guests in the house
- Arabic-speaking nannies for younger children, English- or French-speaking for school-age children
- Governesses and tutors who keep British, IB or American curricula going through the summer
- Yacht nannies for charters and owner trips out of Monaco and Antibes
- Maternity nurses for a summer birth in Monaco or Nice
How the summer runs
- Schedules written around late evenings, Friday family time and Eid
- Ramadan timings respected where the summer overlaps
- Female staff only, where the family prefers it
- Discretion as standard: NDA signed before any introduction, no photographs, no social media
- Candidates with prior Gulf or Riviera-summer experience flagged on the shortlist
Under French and Monaco law, employed by you
Riviera placements are French placements: the family employs the nanny on a declared contract through URSSAF (or the CCSS in Monaco) for the length of the season, and Lumière guides you through the steps — the declaration, the contract, the first payslip. Staff you bring from the Gulf on a visit visa cannot legally work in France; a locally employed seasonal nanny can, and is covered by French insurance from day one. We place only candidates with the right to work in France and the EU.
Timing
- Brief us by April for a June start; the best summer nannies are placed by May
- Allow four weeks for a single nanny, six for a rota pair
- Short-notice cover is often possible in season from our Riviera pool
What families pay
- Riviera live-in nanny salary: €3,000–5,500 net per month (2026 market range); Monaco €3,500–4,500 net
- Day rates for short engagements: €250–400 per day
- Rota pairs: each nanny is a separate placement
- Lumière's fee is separate and stated in writing before the search — see our terms
How We Match Your Family
Every search starts with a conversation with the Lumière team, led by Hanna, a career nanny, and ends with a hand-picked shortlist — never a database. Four steps, the same for every family.
Comprehensive Screening
References verified in person, criminal-record and DBS checks where applicable, credentials sighted, and experience with staffed, international households assessed.
Language Assessment
Candidates are interviewed in the languages your household uses; qualifications, first-aid certificates and right to work are verified before any introduction.
Family Consultation
A detailed conversation about your household, routines, schools, travel and the person you want in your children's lives.
Cultural Matching
Temperament, values and professional maturity matched to your family; two or three candidates presented, each one Hanna and the team would work alongside.

How Lumière nannies are vetted for Gulf families on the Riviera
Placements on the French Riviera are made under French law: the family employs the nanny on a declared URSSAF contract under the Convention Collective des particuliers employeurs; Monaco placements are declared with the CCSS. Lumière introduces, vets and guides you through the paperwork; the nanny is employed by you.
Casier judiciaire (bulletin n°3)
Current French criminal-record extract for every candidate, plus references verified in person by the Lumière team.
URSSAF-declared employment
The family employs the nanny on a declared URSSAF contract (or with the CCSS in Monaco); we explain each step from the declaration to the first payslip.
Convention collective
Working hours, overtime, paid leave and notice set out correctly in the contract we help you draft.
PSC1 paediatric first aid
Current PSC1 certification or equivalent.
Multilingual interview
Arabic, English and French candidates interviewed in the language the family will use.
Season-ready
Candidates with prior Riviera summer, villa or yacht experience are flagged on the shortlist.
Declared employment. Every placement is made on a written, declared contract with the family as employer. Lumière does not place undeclared nannies.
The Lumière difference
Founded by a professional nanny, not a recruiter
"I founded Lumière because the families I worked for kept asking the same question: where do we find another nanny like you? I still take private placements. Every nanny I place is one I would work alongside."
Hanna founded Lumière Placements after years inside private households as a career nanny. Lumière is the only French Riviera-based boutique placement agency, placing across Monaco, Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat, Cannes, Saint-Tropez and Nice, and worldwide, founded and led by a professional nanny.
